ecoPOWER 900 Series Production Gears Up

Picture to the left shows the first few ecoPOWER 900 units coming through early stage of production line. Flow rate is 5886 CFM (10,000 CM/HR) at power usage of 190 watts in lab and 180 revs per minute. We expect power usage in field to be closer to about 160-170 watts with normal wind support. Weight of unit is 77 lbs (35kg). The EP900 is only ecoPOWER model which has variable speed capacity through thermostat control. EP400 and EP600 have set rotation rates to give optimal energy usage. EP900 does have a safety stop installed to restrict top rev rate. We should have more customer feedback in the next issue, so stay tuned.

An enhanced motor control system will be available locally very soon that plugs into unit and enables programming of motor speed between initial move to mechanical operation and final temperature. For example, mechanical operation can be programmed to commence at say, 95 degF (35 degC) with motor reaching maximum speed at say, 113 degF (45 degC). Licensing agreements should be available in the near future with the motor manufacturer to allow distributors programming ability. Currently all motor programming is done by Edmonds in Australia before leaving the factory.

Woolloomooloo High School Installs ecoPOWER

Those “down under” names may sometimes be hard to pronounce but the project leaders knew that Hybrid technology could help.

The project leaders expected economical results from the recent installation of ecoPower600's at the Sydney Distant Education High School and were clearly satisfied.

The project consisted of installation of 16 x EP600 ecoPower Hybrid turbines for general cooling & ventilation.

Results were impressive with all goals met, and only positive feedback was received from the school maintenance Dept and administration.
